{Five on Friday} 10/23/15

Woo hoo!! We made it! TGIF!!

Whew....it has been busy lately. We went on a mini-vacay last weekend to visit family and I feel like I need a vacation from that vacation. Packing and Unpacking this family of 5 is a workout in itself. We are home now and settled. We had an ear infection, strep throat and cold virus to deal with this week also. Oh.... the joys of school germs!

I am super excited because tomorrow my hubby is running in his first mud run!! He hasn't really trained or prepped for it so ya'll say a prayer. He is going to do awesome. Mud is not my kind of thing so his brother is competing with him. I will let you know how it goes. Have any of you competed in mud runs?? Did you train before or just wing it?

I thought I would share with you guys some things that I have been loving lately {Five on Friday} style!

{one} Nourish: Mind, Body and Soul

I love this book. The recipes are to die for.  I have this book displayed in my kitchen because the photos are AMAZING! It is all about delicious meals, meditating, yoga, strength training and living a nourishing life! I love the yoga section especially because I have a new found love for yoga. I have been eyeing a recipe in the book for overnight berry and chia parfait that looks like something that I would love. Christmas will be here before we know it and I think this book would make such a perfect gift for clean eaters, fitness lovers and yogis!

{two} Cover Girl Ink it

I don't know why I feel the need to share this but I HATE when eyeliner smears down my face. There is nothing worse than looking in the mirror and seeing a black shadow under your eye from your makeup not staying in place. I have tried A LOT of different brands and this one....stays put. I'm just saying...if you are like me....and struggle with this eyeliner smear problem...try this one out and let me know what you think.

{three} Toms Deodorant

I LOVE LaVanilla Healthy deodorant. It is the best "healthy" deodorant that I have tried. BUT the other day (while on vacation) I ran out and of course the only thing near me was a grocery store and the best thing they had was Toms. I have used it for a few days now and I like it. I don't love it but if you are in a pinch or if you need something that you can easily have access too...this stuff works!

{four} Built In with bookshelves

Ya'll....don't ever attempt to do a HUGE carpentry project when you have 3 small children and a super busy husband. This project that I thought would take a month has taken a couple months and we still are not finished. We are making progress but I wanted to show you where we are now. The main mantle/fireplace part is almost complete. All that is left is to move the bookshelf pieces in, tile the surround, install the fireplace, paint, caulk, paint some more....ugh. Okay....so there is still a lot to do but anywho...I think it is going to look great IF we ever finish!

{five} Immaculate

Why hasn't anyone told me about this stuff?? No preservatives, GMO free, very few ingredients and everything they make is delicious! I have used their cake mix and tried a few of their flavors of cookies. I am never making homemade chocolate chip cookies again. These taste AWESOME and they only have a handful of ingredients. All you do is place them on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes or so. My kids are obsessed!! Well...maybe I am too. Everyone needs a cookie every now and then!

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!

{Five on Friday} 7/31/15

TGIF!!!! Am I right??

I wanted to wish you all a fabulous weekend and share with you guys some of my new loves.....

{one} Honest Tea Unsweetened Cinnamon Sunrise

I know I talk a lot about herbal tea these days but I am hooked. I really feel like it is perfect when I feel like mindlessly snacking. I love hot tea or cold tea. If you have followed my blog for long...you know that I have been obsessed with Honest tea for a while. Other than water, black coffee and hot tea...there are very few drinks that I feel like fit into my "clean eating" lifestyle. Honest tea is one that definitely fits the bill. When I was pregnant with my 3rd child, Honest Tea White Peach tea was the only thing I could drink during my first trimester. Water made me sick but tea...was just right! I am even more excited because they have come out with unsweetened tea!! I tried the Cinnamon Sunrise and it is hard to say but I think this may be my new favorite! My husband was sneaking and stealing them because he is also a little obsessed. If you are looking for something (other than water) to drink...give these a try. Let me know what you think. :)

{two} FXP Fitness Hula Workout

Don't laugh....this workout is no joke. This is not the hula hooping you remember from elementary school! This is a hard core, barre inspired workout. Yes...there is hula hooping and it is super fun and challenging...but this workout made me so sore for days!! There is a cardio, lower body and arms/abs routine and I really enjoyed all of them. They are broken into 15 minute workouts so you can do one or all 3 and fit it in in less than 1 hour. I was sweaty and struggling to get through some of it! It is a good kind of burn. My daughter found this hysterical. She even took the hula hoop for a spin. I will definitely keep adding this into my workout routine. I really feel like it is a fun addition that will challenge my body! It is good to switch things up!! Have you hula hooped lately??

{three} Odd Mom Out

Odd Mom Out
Odd Mom Out
I love really light-hearted, funny shows to watch at night. I am not into forensic anything, action packed or any shows that will make me cry these days. This is a really funny, quirky Mom show and I may have binge watched every episode on my Roku! I am always looking for funny shows so what's your favorite?? Anything that I must watch?

{four} Organic Gardening

I have to give complete credit to my husband on this one. He has done such a great job on our first ever garden. We have a TON of tomatoes, jalapenos, red peppers and cilantro still growing at this point. We have learned a lot so far and now we are planning our fall garden. My husband just made his first barrel compost and he has a worm compost already doing its thing! I would love to grow spaghetti squash and kale this fall. My list is a mile long of things that I want to start growing!  My husband keeps trying to convince me to get chickens. I would love to have my own organic eggs and I know that my kids would LOVE IT!!

{five} Homemade Ice Cream
Homemade Maple Ice Cream
Photo cred: 100 Days Of Real Food

Last weekend we decided it would be great to make homemade ice cream to eat while putting together a swing set that we got for my baby girls 6th birthday present. I feel like I need to start making this a weekend ritual. Homemade ice cream is SO much better than store bought!  I tried out 100 Days of Real Food Maple Pecan ice cream and it was SO good!! My Mother-in-law made homemade peach ice cream from locally grown peaches and my Mom made a homemade fruit ice cream that was my all time favorite as a child. That reminds me...I need to share my grandmothers fruit ice cream recipe with you guys....it is SO good. Stay tuned for that!

Hope you all have a great weekend?? What are some new things that you are loving??

**I did not get compensated for this post. Some items were sent to me for review purposes but I only share what I truly love!

{Five on Friday} 7/10/15

TGIF!! Am I right??

What a great week relaxing and getting back in the swing of things after vacation!! I've been trying out a few new products and wanted to share some of my favorite finds from this week!

Let's get started!

five on friday link party

Love this stuff! I am super picky about sunscreen. I love that it's tinted so it makes your skin look great while giving you great sun protection. I used this all week at the beach and never got burnt! My skin felt soft and never greasy! Free of parabens, BPA, phthalates, and artificial dyes.
This one is even safe for my preggo and breastfeeding friends.

I've been a huge fan of all things coconut lately! I can't get enough! This spray was perfect after I got in from the beach. I sprayed this on after my shower and my skin felt great, wasn't greasy and I didn't smell like a coconut. Best part is that it is only one ingredient....which is super hard to find for a moisturizer. I would even use this on my kids sensitive skin.

I love Jack Rogers Sandals and I really needed a cute black pair of sandals that I could wear anywhere. These are great because you can even wear these to the pool! They come in a ton of different colors. I am eyeing the gold and the coral!!

I received this tea sampler to try out because I just can't get enough herbal tea lately. I swear it cuts down on my cravings and keeps me from binging on chocolate. I always make a cup of hot tea around 3:00-4:00 in the afternoon when I'm most likely to snack without being hungry! The Wings and Green tea with herbs are my fave and this sampler is a great gift for a tea snob like myself. :)

Y'all...I broke out the one piece bathing suit this year! My stretch marks and loose skin like to be concealed and I have been eyeing one pieces this year because I feel like they are very "in style." I love Kenneth Coles Cutout One Piece swimsuits. They are on sale at Macys but I actually found one on eBay and it was only $22!!! Score!!! If you're cheap like me...ebay does have really cute brand name bathing suits for cheap!

Cheers to the weekend!! :)

{Five on Friday} 6/12/15

Good Morning!!

What a great week! This is was the official last week of school! Woo hoo!! No more homework, super early mornings and strict early bedtimes. I mean we still have structure but things are just more relaxed during the summer! Lots of pool time, beach trips and fun in the sun! I couldn't be more excited!

I wanted to share with you guys a few things that I am LOVING lately....here goes....

On to my {five favorites}

1.  GoMacro Macrobar Mini:

Obsessed does not even begin to cover how much I love these bars. I don't usually recommend any kind of energy/granola bar because they are usually loaded with junk and WAY too much sugar. Glorified candy bars some may say. These bars are 100% vegan, USDA certified organic, certified non-GMO, Gluten-Free, and made from mostly raw ingredients. I am a HUGE ingredient freak and when I heard about this company...I felt like they totally get it. They do so much research into every single ingredient that goes in these bars that I totally trust what I am eating. I am on the go a lot (like everyone I am sure) so I am always in the need of something to throw in my purse. Having a snack that is packed with healthy fat and protein to throw in my purse is perfect!! I have been eating the minibars which are the perfect size for a quick bite. My kids love these too! All of the flavors are delicious. I love them all. I could go on and on but I will stop with this.....if you are looking for a super easy/nutritious snack for on the go or when you are short on time....these are perfect and guilt free!

For 40% off your first order...just go to https://gomacro.com/shop/ and enter the code "BLOGGER" at checkout! Enjoy! :)

I was sent a box of the GoMacro Macrobar Minis to try. All opinions are 100% mine. I absolutely love them and I am sure you will as well! :)

2.  Toasted Coconut Chips:

Where have these been all of my life! I have always loved coconut but lately...I just can't seem to get enough. I have been making my own trail mix and adding these in. I love the walnut/coconut chip/dark chocolate chip combo. Trust me....try it! These are just a really nice crunchy treat that happens to be  high in minerals and full of fiber!

3.  Pineapple Slicer

I love fresh pineapple but hate cutting them! I saw this on Amazon for less than $4 with free shipping  and thought...why not?? I love this thing! It cores the pineapple and cuts it in rings! My kids think it is super cool to eat their pineapple circles and it is just way too easy! We probably go through at least 2 pineapples a week! :)

4. Grilled Peaches

We have been grilling A LOT now that the weather is nicer. My husband loves to grill and I love that he loves it! We grill a ton of veggies/chicken and shrimp but lately we have been on a grilled fruit kick! Pineapple rings are delicious on the grill but the best thing I have had lately is grilled peaches! OMG! Stay tuned next week and I will tell you exactly how I make mine!

5.  Our First Garden

I am super proud of this one! My husband has taken an interest in organic gardening and he is really doing such a great job! We have spring mix lettuce, baby spinach, okra, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, roma and regular tomatoes, cilantro, peppers, jalapenos and onions. So far we have more lettuce than we could possibly eat! We are going to be eating A LOT of salads this summer! I love it! My kids loved planting the seeds, watching the plants grow and eating all of the yummy vegetables!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!! What are your five favorites from this week??
