{Spiced Apple Bread}

This bread is OH SO GOOD! It would be perfect for Thanksgiving morning (or any morning actually), a great snack, or a super sweet gift! These breads don't last long in my house! They are just way too easy and delicious!

Spiced Apple Bread
  • 1 1/2 cup old fashioned oats (processed into flour using a food processor or 1 cup oat flour)
  • 2 cups chopped apples (I used Gala)
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek Yogurt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • pinch salt
Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.

Add all ingredients to a medium bowl and stir to combine. Add to a loaf pan that has been sprayed with non-stick spray. *Sprinkle the top with some extra oats to make it pretty!

Bake for 65-75 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean and bread is cooked through.

On a side note....this bread was featured on my first VLOG.....check it out here

This bread definitely moved up the list to one of my favorite oat breads....it is up there with my Strawberry Banana Bread and Peach Ginger Bread! YUMM!

  2. This looks so good. I'm a sucker for any kind of bread with fruit in it.

  3. I tried out this recipe today. I used one cup of oat flour but the result was very mushy. Maybe I needed more oat flour? The flavor was great though so I'd really like to try again to get the texture correct. Any ideas? Thanks!

    1. I would say cook it longer. I have cooked mine before...taken it out of the oven, sliced into and it was still mushy...I just pop it back in the pan and put it in the oven for 10 or 15 minutes. It always turns out fine. It is a very moist bread even when fully cooked. Hope that helps!
