Do you think clean eating costs more a week on groceries than you were spending before? We're trying to figure out our weekly budget on groceries - clean eating in mind.
ReplyDeleteAllison
I spend about the same. We don't eat out as much so that has saved us money. I also do my grocery shopping online so I can keep a close eye on how much I am spending and plan my meals accordingly. :)
DeleteWhere do you do your online shopping?
DeleteI shop online at Harris Teeter. :)
DeleteYou are absolutely right about the cost... when you compare shopping for healthy clean food vs eating out several times a week it's pretty much even. You have to consider how much you spend eating out.... I forgot to do that at first and thought holy cow I am spending a fortune on food!@ But then I remembered my sweet hubby usually footed the eating out bill and I never saw those tickets, but for a family of four to eat mexican food and have a margarita it was usually close to $50.00 for one dinner... we did this about 3-4 times a week..... I posted about my fist Whole Foods visit here: http://hootsmomma.blogspot.com/2013/07/critic.html great posts i enjoyed my visit with you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this. I'm trying to switch over from calorie counting to clean eating because I've only heard good things about it. After losing 30lbs & being at a stand still & my energy level stinks I'm willing to try new things (that's healthy of course)
ReplyDeleteGive clean eating a try! It made a huge difference in my energy level!
DeleteThese are actually wonderful some ideas in the blog. You have touched good quality points here. In whatever way continue writing.
ReplyDeletefree coupons
Ashley- the price of almond butter has jumped in my town to $9 for a 12 oz jar. I have recently become addicted to it :) and hate to give it up. Do you have a good site online to order it from?
ReplyDeleteI usually have pretty good luck with Amazon. I usually order a few jars at a time. Hope that helps!
DeleteWhat is your take on coffee? It has taken me 2 months to come off all caffeine. Some clean eating food lists say coffee is okay and others say avoid. I am not looking to become addicted to coffee as I once was.....but it sure would be nice to enjoy a cup occasionally. Thanks in advance.....I love your site! Found on Pinterest.
ReplyDeleteI love coffee! I usually drink mine black but I see nothing wrong with it. I have read many great benefits from coffee!
DeleteWhy are no types of fish besides canned tuna included for clean eating?
ReplyDeleteThis is just my personal shopping list and I'm not a fish lover!! :)
DeleteI'd recommend you add pumpkin seeds to your list. They contain great minerals
ReplyDeleteAlso which brand of shredded cheese do you buy? I have a hard time finding a brand that doesn't add cellulose to prevent the cheese from clumping.
ReplyDeleteI just buy my store brands organic cheese.
DeleteIs there a reason you specified Chobani yogurt over Fage?
ReplyDeleteNope! I love both! :)
DeleteLow fat food at grocery stores with nutritional facts http://healthygrocery.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of healthy store bought cookies / snack bars have you found to be the cleanest? I was looking into the junkless cookies but wasn't sure just how junkless they were.
