{16 week BUMPdate}

I know I promised not to bombard you guys with pregnancy posts but I thought it would be fun every couple of weeks to give you an update on my pregnancy. The past few months have been a whirlwind and I am so ready to get back to normal!! I plan on finding some prenatal yoga videos and start a yoga routine this week. I may also incorporate some light weights and easy cardio. My nausea is less often now so I feel like I can commit and stick with some kind of workout routine. My eating has been kind of crazy! Half of the time I stick with healthy snacks and meals and the other half all I can stomach are white carbs and Chick-fil-a. So weird. I really want to start watching it! I took a short weekend trip to the beach this past weekend and gained a whopping 3.5 lbs. while I was there! YIKES!


How Far Along? 16 weeks

Size of Baby: The size of an avocado! (4.5 inches and 3.5 ounces)

Gender: We will find out in less than 2 weeks!! YAY!! I can not wait!! 

Weight Gain: I have gained a total of 6.5 lbs. Like I said...3.5 of those were all over the weekend! OOPS! It was a weekend full of splurges but I am ready to get back to eating healthy and drinking more water.

Maternity Clothes: I am in search of some maternity clothes this week. I can still wear some of my regular jeans but they are getting quite tight. I need to look into those belly band things. Should I go with the belly band for now or maternity jeans?? My shirts are also getting quite snug and short! I definitely need to invest in some maternity clothes! It will make getting ready so much easier!

Nursery: No clue. :)
   
Movement: I have felt a few "butterflies" but no real movement felt yet! I can't wait!

Symptoms: Heartburn....so much heartburn!! I had terrible nausea for so long and as soon as that got slightly better....the heartburn took over! That is really about it for now. 

Sleep: I sleep okay these days....I do wake up a few times a night to go to the bathroom but other than that I sleep pretty well.

Cravings: 
Chick-fil-a Sunflower seed bagel with chicken, egg and cheese is really about all that I have really craved. Fruit and cheese has been pretty popular lately. That has been my go-to snack.

What I Miss: Eating my 5-6 meals a day and drinking a ton of water. Lately...I struggle with finding foods that sound appealing to me. I stare at the refrigerator in hopes that something will sound good and nothing does. I miss that. I am hoping that I can get back on track with my eating and my exercise routine. This is the week of preparation for a healthier pregnancy going forward! Thankful to be past the survival mode of the first trimester!

Best Moment This Week: Visiting family and celebrating my step-sisters baby-to-be at Carolina Beach. We had the most gorgeous view and my babies got to enjoy feeding birds on the beach with their Daddy. We had a blast and it was nice to get away for a day or two!

Looking forward to: Finding out the sex!! This time around I have NO CLUE so I am super excited!

  1. I had a belly band thingy, but I gained so much weight in my thighs that I didn't get to wear it long. Ugh! We have a Burlington Coat Factory about an hour away from us, it was the cheapest place I found for new maternity clothes. For the rest... I bought used through facebook online yard sales.
