{Fitness Friday} My Top 5 Must-Haves for Fitness

First of all you should know that before January of this year....I was the least athletic person that anyone I know has ever met! I have never worked out or successfully attempted any sport in my entire life! That is UNTIL NOW!! Once I committed to working out 6 days a week....I haven't looked back! I can't imagine my life without fitness now. My one rest day a week is usually spent thinking about working out. I am a little obsessed. I guess there are worse things that I could be obsessed with...Right?  I am kind of figuring it out as I go. I wanted to share with you my top 5 fitness must-haves that I can not live without!

1. A good pair of Athletic shoes

I'm not saying it has to be Asics. I'm just saying invest in a pair of really good shoes. When I first started working out, I wore an old, ugly pair of shoes that I have had forever. Needless to say...I had terribly sore feet and legs everyday. I couldn't understand why. My husband stressed the importance of a good shoe and for the first time ever....He was right! ;)

2. Water bottle

I try to drink close to a gallon of water a day. I feel so much better when I am adequately hydrated. Some days I don't get quite that much in but I at least try to consume half of my body weight in ounces of water. Having a water bottle seems to make it so much easier! I love the new hydration series by Thermos. They are easy to drink out of and I love that the spout is covered. It opens up with the touch of a button. Perfect if you ask me!

3. Neoprene Weights

Shocked the heck out of me but I LOVE strength training. It's my favorite part of my workout routine. These neoprene weights are easy to handle and affordable. I got these at Walmart and you can get them in a variety of different weights.

 4. Fitness Apps

My favorite fitness apps are Interval Timer, Tabata Timer, and Mapmyfitness. I use these every week. If you don't know what a Tabata is....stay tuned! I am going to post about what they are and why I love them next week! The interval timer is great for racing against the clock while doing any kind of circuit training. Mapmyfitness is wonderful for cardio. I love knowing the distance when I go for a walk and I like keeping up with my mph so I don't start slowing down! Go ahead....download all three!

5. Sports Bra

This may be a no-brainer for most....but of course I was clueless about these too. My wise baby sister informed me that you CAN NOT workout without one of these and boy was she right!! Ladies....let me tell you....please invest in one of these and wear it every time you work out! I got this one at Forever21 for $12.80. I was skeptical because it was so cheap but it is wonderful!

Hope this helps you guys get started on a fitness routine! What are your favorite fitness must-haves?

  1. Awesome post!
I should have just one New Year's resolution, a health/fitness blog diet. I just can't take it any more.

I looked at kaleo's stuff before when you recommended it. I don't have a problem with it except I simply can't do a lot of that stuff with my back any more.

Great thanks for sharing this amazing post!
