Being a Nurse, you get to see many happy moments and great outcomes but you also see many not-so-great diagnoses. In my field of work Cancer is fairly common. It is a diagnosis that I am around far too often. No matter what...it always gets to me. I fear Cancer. It is a disease that has struck a very close friend of mine and way too many people that are close to me.
One thing that I knew I could do for myself and my family was to monitor what goes in our mouths. My favorite quote by Dr. Ann Wigmore is "Food can be the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison." This really hit home for me. The best way I can prevent diseases and illnesses for my family is to feed them the absolute best food that I can. My job is actually one of the top reasons that I turned to "clean" eating. I will never be able to go back to the way I used to eat. I am far from perfect and I strive every day to do a better job feeding my family. It is not an easy job...for sure...but one that I will always be proud of.
Now I have something special for you guys!! Since I have so many "Nurse" friends and friends in the medical field...I thought I would do a quick scrub top review for you guys and give you a NICE coupon code!!!

Hi Ashley,
ReplyDeleteI came across your blog while searching for clean eating recipes on Pinterest. I have been reading your blog and I like how you think and approach fitness and food. I also an an RN in cardiology and have 3 young children. I enjoy fitness and I totally get that quote you wrote of what you eat can either harm you or fuel you. I lost both my parents at a young age to cancer so I find I look at life trying my hardest to keep fit and eat healthy to improve my chances of not getting cancer. I just want to say I enjoy reading your blog and its nice that you are able to keep to clean eating for the most part by also know when its ok to indulge with the family once and a while. I will keep reading :)
Thank you!! :)
