{1 Minute Fruit and Nut Oatmeal}

Ya'll know that I am a huge oatmeal fan...right?? It has lowered my cholesterol, keeps me full and gives me a good amount of fiber each day. Sometimes I will switch it up but my true breakfast love is oatmeal. I make steel cut oatmeal most of the time...but lately I wake up ravenous! I need something quick and easy!

The other day we were flying out the door heading to gymnastics and didn't have time for breakfast. My husband ran in Starbucks for a coffee and was sweet enough to grab me an oatmeal. I don't really know what the ingredients look like but it was delicious! I knew I could easily make this at home. I like to cook mine in a mug because it is easy to eat and most mornings I carry it around with me....eating and feeding the kids breakfast at the same time! I am a pro-multi-tasker!

1 Minute Fruit and Nut Oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup water (I use my dry measuring cup for this because I am lazy)
Toppings:
  • splash almond milk (unsweetened vanilla)
  • dried fruit
  • nuts
  • organic honey or real maple syrup
  • cinnamon
  • fresh fruit
  • almond butter
  • flax seed
Grab a large mug. Add oats and water. Microwave for 1 minute. Remove and add toppings! Viola! Breakfast is served!!

**My favorite combo is almond milk, dried fruit blend from Trader Joe's, pecans, organic honey and a dash of cinnamon! Delish!

So tell me....

What are your favorite oatmeal toppings???
