{Skinny Superfood Smoothie}

Some days when I hit the 3:00 pm energy low....I need a quick "pick-me-up!" I think a green smoothie is perfect because it is fast, cold and has TONS of vitamins and nutrients! I like to add protein to mine because it rounds out the perfect snack and keeps me full until dinner. You can not taste the spinach at all! I think that is why some people are hesitant to try a green smoothie. You get your spinach, chia seeds and blueberries in this shake and they are all qualified as "superfoods." You can feel really good about putting all these nutrients in your body and the best part is that it is delicious!

Skinny Superfood Smoothie

  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 1 cup milk of choice (I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk)
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (Find a protein powder without artificial sweeteners--I use Designer Whey French Vanilla)
  • 1 large handful of organic blueberries
  • 2 tbsp. chia seeds
  • 1/2 banana (frozen)
Place baby spinach and milk in blender and pulse until combined. Add protein powder, blueberries, chia seeds and frozen banana and blend until smooth. 

I like to let this sit for a few minutes to allow the chia seeds to soften. 

**If you don't have frozen banana, you can use fresh....just add in 5-10 ice cubes**
